Writtle CARDS

It is Writtle CARDS strict policy that only society members, with fully paid-up membership, will be eligible to audition in the first instance.

If a role cannot be satisfactorily cast from interested members, only then will consideration be given to those outside of the society.

If a non-member is cast from an audition, then the non-member is expected to join the society and therefore pay that year's annual membership, in full, on acceptance of the role. The new member will also be expected to pay their Performance Fee for the show, as per any member who is cast in any production.

If a non-member (who did not audition) is asked, by the Director, to take on a role because it could not otherwise be cast, then that cast member will be treated as a "Guest". They will not be made to join the society, but may be asked to cover the cost of their Performance Fee, depending on the size of the role, at the discretion of the Director and Producer.

Membership is paid annually, renewable at the AGM, with rates as follows:

• Individual Membership - £25.00
• Joint Membership (couples) - £35.00
• Full-time Students - £10.00

Members who are cast in a production are also asked to pay a £15.00 performance fee for each production. This covers some of the costs of scripts, costumes, props, etc, which are all sourced by the backstage crew.
